Eric A. Hawley joined Garcia de la Garza, LLP, as an Associate in March of 2015, where he primarily handles commercial litigation and catastrophic personal injury matters.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Mr. Hawley graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2005.  After working for a year in Houston, Mr. Hawley returned to the University of Texas for law school, graduating in May 2010.  While at The University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Hawley was the Recent Developments Associate Editor for the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas & Energy Law.  He also participated in the Capital Punishment Clinic as a Student Attorney in the spring of 2009.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hawley worked as an Associate at Schwartz, Junell, Greenberg & Oathout, LLP, where he counseled various clients in business and commercial litigation, as well as employment and labor litigation.  During his time with Schwartz, Junell, Greenberg & Oathout, LLP, Mr. Hawley assisted in defending an electrical infrastructure company in a mass tort action involving over a billion dollars in damage claims.  Mr. Hawley also gained experience advising clients on compensation issues such as wage & hour compliance and overtime requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
